This super-tough mud running event is held at the site of disused WWII Airfield RAF Winthorpe, combining rough undulating terrain with around 40 obstacles (man-made and natural) located throughout the run that you must climb, slide, crawl, wade and jump across to finish!
This race is unique - our course is permanent which means we work all year round to improve it and make it a uniquely challenging event.

Starting at the Event Village, you have 5km of tough but achievable terrain to cross, 30+ obstacles that will test you and your team. Introducing “DogFight” – an intense concentration of obstacles based in a 4x4 area that’s also spectator friendly!
Not happy with 5km? Raise your game with the ever popular classic 10k route, featuring special obstacles and even more challenging terrain than last year.
Introducing the all-new tougher 10 mile distance - no laps, just brand new terrain and brutal obstacles: everything the 10km gets, plus exclusive tougher 10 mile-only obstacles such as our high walls that will require mortal solo runners to work together, and add a serious team challenge to group runners.
The "daddy" of obstacle racing challenges, this is not to be undertaken lightly.... Starting on Saturday morning you'll take on the 5km and 10km event in the afternoon, followed by merriment at our dedicated mud festival - the first of its kind! On Sunday, with an aching body you will then tackle the 10 miler! That makes over 31km of pain, and a total of over 100 obstacles, the greatest of which is the little voice in your head pleading with you to STOP!!!

The run attracts runners of all abilities, from novices attempting their first mud race, to experienced runners looking for a challenge, and the course is also suitable for teams. The concept behind Airfield Anarchy is to open up this historical site in a unique way to create a jolly fun but tough mud run that will allow runners of all abilities to experience the exhilaration of this challenging, interesting and seriously enjoyable event.
Airfield Anarchy takes off near Newark, on the Nottinghamshire/Lincolnshire border. The venue is the Newark Showground, host to many large outdoor and indoor events.
All our registration is managed by Active Network. Once you’ve registered you’ll get an email confirmation. You can change many aspects of your entry, including wave time, transfer to another participant etc, instantly and without contacting us. Simply log in using the password you created and bingo!
Runners and Spectators are advised to confirm that they will be available on the Event date prior to registering, as refunds cannot be given in any case. You may change your registration information, transfer to another person, or change category (i.e. 5k to 10k event) subject to the payment of an administrative fee of £5.00 GBP which covers the administrative time required to amend our records. Airfield Anarchy has an exemplary safety record, full and comprehensive event insurance, and fully subscribes to all aspects of safety, including the local safety advisory group which includes all aspects of safety planning and risk mitigation with input from the emergency services and local government. the course and other build is constructed and run with safety as a prime concern, using accredited organisations where applicable and using competent and appropriately qualified staff where deemed necessary by the safety advisory group. if you have any concerns of queries please contact us using the email address email@example.com.
YES! We would strongly encourage you to support friends, family and coworkers who are running our event, and give them much-needed moral support. You are free to spectate in the designated areas outside of the Event Village but if you would like to watch any of the live music, camp or otherwise get involved you will need to buy a festival pass (see above PRICING AND ENTRY)
We offer FREE on-site camping for all runners and festival pass holders, on a quality flat grass surface, with free hot showers, toilets, changing areas and secure bag drop – so you can relax and enjoy the music! For added peace of mind, the campsite is secured within the bounds of the Newark Showground and patrolled 24/7 by qualified security staff.
There are also a large number of local B&B's.
We couldn’t put Airfield Anarchy on without our team of marshals. Our support team cover everything from course marshalling, bag drop and registration, to help with car parking. If you choose to help out you will be well looked after, and kept topped up with tea, coffee and biscuits from the staff room! You’ll also get a festival pass and a free race entry if you want it. There will be water stops every 3km but we recommend good hydration before and after the event to ensure you get the most from your day.
Newark Showground, our Event Village venue, provide a comprehensive choice of hot and cold foods, and we will be running several well-stocked bars around the site! More will be announced about the exact choice of food on our social media as the event approaches.

The Royal Air Force has a proud tradition of looking after its own. The RAF Benevolent Fund is the RAF’s leading welfare charity and is an extension of that tradition.
Since its foundation in 1919, the RAFBF has been there, through thick and thin, supporting the RAF family. The RAFBF are there for all serving and former members of the RAF as well as their partners and dependent children.
